What is Planned Maintenance?

Planned maintenance is a proactive service program that ensures your automated systems and door hardware are inspected, tested, and serviced on a routine schedule. Instead of waiting for equipment to fail, planned maintenance helps identify wear early, reduces operational disruptions, and improves overall safety.

Planned maintenance ensures:

  • Longer equipment lifespan through regular servicing
  • Reduced emergency repair costs
  • Compliance with safety and fire-rating standards
  • Smooth and reliable operation during peak hours
  • Safety testing of sensors, operators, and access control components
1
INSPECTION

All parts, fasteners, seals, and overall operation of equipment are carefully inspected and evaluated.

6
PARTS / EXTRA WORK

While a Preventative Maintenance Program may extend the quality and performance of your system, it does not cover hardware failures caused by specific operational circumstances or unforeseen events not otherwise specified. Upon customer authorization, necessary parts will be replaced, then billed accordingly.

2
CLEANING

A thorough cleaning of all moving parts to remove debris buildup is an essential part of maintenance. Cleaning and re-lubrication of moving assemblies are performed to enhance the unit’s functionality, promote safety, and remove any surface interference.

7
CUSTOMER INCENTIVES

If a Hudson Planned Maintenance Agreement is placed on your equipment twice per year at 6-month working hours, Hudson Loyalty Discounts may be applied.
Working hours: Mondayโ€“Thursday 8:00amโ€“5:00pm, Friday 8:00amโ€“3:00pm.
Emergency repair rates may apply to non-scheduled maintenance calls.
Hudson provides customer support from diagnosis to repair with the best care possible.

3
ADJUSTMENT

Over time, power-operated doors become disengaged and misaligned. Therefore, adjustments are necessary and performed by trained technicians in order to maintain proper operation. Adjustments may also be required to restore the equipmentโ€™s working condition and validate the warranty.

8
COST AND EFFICIENCY

With regular Planned Maintenance visits, we will pre-schedule the maintenance of your equipment, allowing you to be aware of upcoming repair plans. This leads to reduced repair time and reduced unexpected closures. Risks and downtime can be avoided by having technicians review the equipment using the Hudson Planned Maintenance Program.

4
LUBRICATION

All moving parts and assemblies receive necessary lubrication according to manufacturer requirements.

9
ACCOUNTABILITY

One of our Planned Maintenance Program objectives is to meet your safety and operational needs. All equipment requiring warranty follow-up will be scheduled promptly. This results in detailed service records for your files.

5
FINAL INSPECTION

After a final inspection of the entire operation of equipment, a Hudson service representative makes recommendations and notes required parts and repairs.

10
IMMEDIATE RESPONSE

In the event of an emergency, the Planned Maintenance Program ensures your equipment receives priority service. Preventative maintenance results in the return of productivity to both equipment and employees.
